Unity College of Teacher Education (UCTE), Dimapur observed fresher’s day cum advent Christmas on December 15 with the theme ‘Strive not to be Success but rather to be of Value.’ It started with invocation by Keneivi U Rhatsu, Asst Prof and welcome speech by Dr Devanand Sinha, Principal. David M Leinak and Watimongla Aa were selected as Mister and Miss Fresher, UCTE-2021 respectively. The advent Christmas celebration highlights were gift exchange and entertainments.

Directorate of Higher Education Nagaland recently accorded farewell to Sedele Lohe, retired registrar, higher education, Nagaland. Dr. Apeni Lotha, director higher education, Nagaland and Benedict Ed. Shitio, UDA spoke at the programme. Sedele Lohe also spoke on the occasion. The programme was chaired by Tol Pucho, computer programmer, higher education. Rokono Keyho, joint director Higher Education pronounced invocation while special song was presented by Arenchenla Walling.

An Advent Christmas organised by the Deputy Commissioner Office, Kohima was celebrated along with officials from various departments at the DC’s farm site, Kohima on December 16. DC Kohima Gregory Thejawelie, NCS delivered a message, song was presented by SDO (C) Office Zubza and Jakhama. SDPDB Pughoboto cum Pre-Christmas celebration was held with SDBDB Chairman and MLA Y Vikheho Swu at the DB Court hall, Pughoboto on December 16. The MLA, ADC Thungchanbemo Tungoe and SAH President Inavi Swu addressed the gathering. Er Chengato EE PWD said the invocation while Youth Secretary SABAK, Hokato Futhena also gave a Christmas message. Shalom Public School, Chümoukedima held its 9th annual day celebration on under the theme ‘Moulding a star’ on December 15. Seyiekhrietuo Solo, EAC Chümoukedima graced the occasion as the chief guest. The Directress, Merenla Longchar delivered the keynote stressed while the Headmaster Mhondamo Lotha said the welcome speech. The students exhibited a musical drama portraying the life of Joseph and his brothers. School choir presented the chorale conducted by the music teacher, R Tali Longkumer. Imsurenla Longkumer of grade 7 said the invocation, Lerina Yim of Grade-6 said the closing prayer and Bambino Swu chaired the event.
